April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. But for us and our community, raising awareness is part of our year-round mission to bring attention to a life-changing disease that is on the rise and ensuring people have access to vital resources. This April, meet PAM, your guide to Parkinson’s Awareness Month. PAM is here to help raise awareness by addressing key Parkinson’s disease (PD) topics. Each week, PAM will share a video, essential tips and resources that provide helpful information about PD.
PD ResourcesParkinson Europe
We are proud founders of World Parkinson’s Day, a yearly awareness day that has taken place on 11 April since 1997. For World Parkinson’s Day 2025, we will be telling you the story of how the tulip became the official symbol of Parkinson’s worldwide, thanks to some brilliant Parkinson’s advocates including our very own founder, Lizzie Graham. Lizzie will be appearing on a very special episode of our Parkinson’s podcast alongside her son Dom, our Operations Director, telling us some fascinating stories from Parkinson’s Europe’s past, including how the history of the tulip symbol and of World Parkinson’s Day itself are intrinsically linked.
